So you have to bear with me for a moment while I rant. I am an empty nester. Our baby is a junior in college and the other 3 are out and grown up. However we do have 2 canine children still at home. Max is out 11-year-old basset hound. If you haven’t ever had the pleasure to live with a basset they are a joy. Just like our children Max is smart, has a terrific personality, loves to talk and is strong-willed. Now in his golden years Max is having trouble sleeping through the night. He goes to bed with me and usually sleeps until 1:30 when he has to go outside. This is usually a quick trip and we are back in bed in 10 minutes or less. The problem arises at 4:30 am when Max needs to go out again and then he doesn’t want to go back to bed so he sits and talks at the end of our bed until I get up with him. This morning was not exception. He went out, he had a drink, he had a treat, he had a bone, he had a second bone and STILL he was buying the whole “mom REALLY needs to go back to bed thing”.
Why am I tell ting you this? Because…since I was up (not on my own will) I began to think that it’s time for those wonderful “recruitment sessions” put on by Panhellenics across the United States. I googled and searched and guess what????? I was right and some are right around the corner :). So here’s the beginning of the list. Check back daily as they will begin to pop up and I will list them ASAP. If you live in one of the areas I wold encourage you to go. They are usually wonderful and although they are not college specific they will give you lots of information about the recruitment process and hopefully will answer any questions you might have. They’re a good way to network and get assistance in finding recommendations to sororities, too.
So here are the ones that I have so far….LOOK carefully some are this next week!!!!
The Panhellenic Association of San Antonio (PASA) Recruitment Forums
Learn about registering for recruitment with PASA and on your chosen campus, discover the “dos and don’ts” of the process, get your questions answered, and meet the many sorority members of the Panhellenic Association of San Antonio. Two sessions are scheduled — they are repeats, so PNMs should attend just one event.
