Recruitment 2013 is coming and will be here before you know it!!! I am so excited!!! Can you tell?  Thought I’d list the various recruitments are beginning to post up and so thought I would share those but first a word from our sponsor. I know that many of you get on the internet , google sorority recruitment and perhaps the college/university you are attending to find info about recruitment on that particular campus. The internet is wonderful place to find information!  Chances are many of you found Sorority Girl 101 through an internet or Google search. However, the internet can lead you to places where there might not be the most helpful information. Point of interest in this area is Greek Rank.

Greek Rank is a site that ranks sororities and fraternities on campuses across the United States. The ranking is done by the posters who log in.  They rank the sororities and fraternities on a scale of 1-5 in the following areas: Looks, Popularity, Classiness, Involvement, Social Life, Sisterhood.  I understand PNMs wanting to know how sororities rank on different campuses as well as what they are involved in. In all seriousness the different areas that Greek Rank rates are very similar to those that sororities might use to rate PNMs.  The problem is that many sororities and fraternities get on and self rank (members rank themselves with very high scores) or if one sorority or fraternity doesn’t like another they may get on and rank the other chapters on campus very low.  So..the scores and comments you see on the various campus areas do not present a true and/or realistic view of the sororities or fraternities on that particular campus.  You’re more than welcome to go to Greek Rank and read the various posts but DO NOT believe any of the comments written there!  Greek Rank is the equivalent of Ten Talk on the internet.

I would even go so far as to tell you to make sure that YOU, personally do not engage in such talk and behavior.  As I have said before when you speak negatively about a sorority or fraternity you have no idea who is listening.  Negative views expressed by PNMs can only hurt them in the end.  Basically if you do not have anything nice to say or post about a sorority or fraternity then refrain from commenting at all.

Climbing off the soap box for now before I fall and break my neck :/.

So how about some good news??? Listed below are some of the different campus panhellenics that have begun to list their 2013 recruitment information and schedules.

IF you are attending THE UNIVERSITY OF ALABAMA and you did not attend Preview Weekend their  Panhellenic is doing a chat on line of sorts tonight at 8 pm cst.  I would encourage you to sign in at the link below and watch.  If you have questions please feel free to ask and I will be happy to try to answer them as best I can :)..

Registration for Fall Formal Recruitment (Sorority Rush) – Panhellenic Recruitment Registration Opens on TBA and closes at TBA.

Ice Water Teas – Sunday, September 1, 2013

There is no minimum grade to participate but potential new members should know that virtually all of the Chapters on campus require a 3.0 GPA (as a minimum, if not more) to carry the PNM through to Preference Party.

This is a competitive recruitment campus and Letters of Reference and Recommendations should be considered to be necessary. Some folks suggest two recs per Chapter as a minimum.

Panhellenic Expansion: Ole Miss welcomes home the Delta Sigma Chapter of Alpha Delta Pi this Fall.
